SNOWBIRD SKI RESORT — A 54-year-old man died after suffering injuries in a ski accident Wednesday morning.
Ski patrol found Millcreek resident Daryl Norton unconscious with a chest injury on the Chips Run around 10 a.m. but were unsure how he had been injured since there were no witnesses to the accident, according to Snowbird Ski Resort communications manager Brian Brown. Norton was an experienced skier who knew the area.
Norton was transported to the helipad between Summit and Alta where emergency crews administered first aid. He was then transported to a local hospital via a medical helicopter around 10:28 a.m.
More information will be released as received.
