SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Glamert Lane Fire caused an evacuation of homes on Saturday afternoon in Saratoga Springs.

At 3:17 p.m., homeowners in the area reported seeing smoke, located at least 2 miles away from the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The fire was on the north side of Lake Mountain, according to a post on the Saratoga Springs Fire & Rescue Facebook page.

An evacuation order was then issued at 3:52 p.m. for 15 homes as a precaution, the post said.

The Saratoga Springs and Lehi fire departments, along with Unified Fire and state and county officials, are working on the fire. The fire has since been turned over to the state, and crews could be out working for a few days to ensure all hot spots are out, the post said.

No new homes are threatened, and evacuees are expected to be allowed to return home at 7 p.m.
