SALT LAKE CITY — A woman crossing a Salt Lake City street was hit and killed by a vehicle Friday night.

At about 10:15 p.m., a police officer heard a nearby crash and responded to 414 W. 500 South, Salt Lake Police Sgt. Kevin Blue said. A 47-year-old woman had been hit by a vehicle and died of the injuries, police said.

The woman's identity has not been released. The driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, Blue said.
