THE SAVANNA — Drone footage is all the rage. Everyone wants a sweet piece of spectacular aerial views without the cost a helicopter, pilot and fuel.

The modern market said “your wish is our command,” and the sights we get to see all over the internet are our reward. Amateurs and professionals alike are capturing wedding shoots and sunrises to whale pods and active volcanoes, and there always seems to be something exciting to see in each video.

The drone footage featured here is breathtaking footage from South Africa, brought to us by the Rind-Raja Picture Company. There’s nothing to do but watch and take it all in. I was blown away by the sheer expanse and greenery of the flatlands. Plus, I was beyond thrilled to watch elephants, zebras and giraffes roam in their natural habitats.

While I don’t want to diminish the stunning beauty of South Africa in its own right, I could not help but compare it to “The Lion King.” You can’t tell me the first shot in the video doesn’t look exactly like a shot from the Disney classic. Personally, I almost expected all the animals in the footage to converge at Pride Rock to honor a newly born lion cub, but I am a ridiculous person. However, it made me appreciate the research and care Disney takes while trying to get as much as it can right about locations and culture.
