RIVERTON — It's almost that time of year when we'd all rather be out on the lake boating instead of stuck indoors. Jet skiing, fishing, wakesurfing — can't you just hear the water calling your name?

For one Utah father-daughter duo, however, a trip to the lake led to an expertly avoided disaster and a viral video. The video shows Riverton dad Kevin Farr wakesurfing with his daughter Brinsley. Dad and daughter both seem to be enjoying the ride, with little Brinsley playfully splashing in the wake as the boat pulls them along at a safe speed.

But then Brinsley tips a little too far into the water and starts to fall off the board. Before you even have a chance to realize what's going on, Farr grabs his daughter by the life-jacket, pulls her in close and balances her carefully back on the surfboard.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

The video went viral after being shared on Reddit with the caption, "On this week's episode of 'Please don't tell your mother...'" racking up thousands of likes and comments. But the Redditors may have gotten it wrong.

"My wife, Amy, is actually better than me," Farr told KSL.com. So it appears she was probably in on the wakesurfing lessons all along.

For safety reasons, I don't recommend trying this with your kids, but I am super impressed with Farr's ability to immediately save his daughter from harm, while also staying balanced on the surfboard. As one Reddit commenter put it, "Dad reflexes for the win."

Fortunately, this almost-mishap didn't get Brinsley down, and she has now mastered surfing all on her own.
