GRANTSVILLE — A person was killed during an apartment fire Saturday evening, police said.

The fire occurred at an apartment in a Grantsville complex at 225 Apple St. just before 10 p.m., according to Tooele County officials. One apartment in the building was completely engulfed in flames when responders arrived on the scene.

Grantsville police reported that there was a fatality in the fire, but it wasn’t immediately released if the victim was male or female or if anyone else was home at the time of the fire. Details about how the fire started were not immediately available.

The victim has not yet been identified, pending family notification.
