SALT LAKE CITY — Utah House Democrats named their legislative leaders Monday.
Rep. Brian King, D-Salt Lake City, will again serve as Utah House minority leader, the party announced.
Other Democrat leaders who will serve in leadership positions for the next two years are: Rep. Joel Briscoe, D-Salt Lake City, as House minority whip; Rep. Angela Romero, D-Salt Lake City, as House minority assistant whip; and Sandra Hollins, D-Salt Lake City, as House minority caucus manager.
“The state has a lot of work to do over the next two years to ensure that the people of Utah are getting the best out of their government," King said in a statement Tuesday. "I look forward to working with members of our new team, as well as across the aisle to accomplish that goal. We are looking forward to representing our house districts and will do so with honor, integrity, and in a manner that advances the prosperity of Utah.”
Utah Senate Democrats announced their legislative leadership positions Nov. 14. The House Democrats were delayed because they were waiting until the results of several tight legislative races were finalized, according to Jon Hennington, Utah State Democratic Party spokesman.
