PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) — Police in Palm Springs, California, say three officers have been shot but there's no word on their conditions. The shooting occurred this afternoon. There are no immediate details of the shooting, which comes days after a Los Angeles County sheriff's sergeant was shot and killed in the high desert town of Lancaster. Sgt. Steve Owen was answering a burglary call at the time. A paroled robber has been charged with the murder.

WASHINGTON (AP) —Donald Trump is again vowing to continue his campaign. He saluted his supporters who have been rallying outside Trump Tower today. A few hundred Trump supporters — and dozens of news crews — had gathered on Fifth Ave for several hours.
WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker Paul Ryan is dealing with a mixture of boos and cheers at a Republican rally in his Wisconsin congressional district. Ryan began his comments today by saying "there is a bit of an elephant in the room," referring to the profane comments made by GOP nominee Donald Trump in 2005. Ryan says he put out a statement Friday about Trump's comments and in his words "that is not what we are here to talk about today."
UNITED NATIONS (AP) — A Russian resolution calling for a separation of moderate and extremist forces in Syria but making no mention of a bombing halt in the besieged city of Aleppo has been defeated in the U.N. Security Council. The draft, put forward by Russia late Friday, failed to get the minimum nine "yes" votes required today. Britain's U.N. ambassador called the resolution "a sham" that would do nothing to protect civilians being killed in Aleppo.
