SALT LAKE CITY — Meet Burro-ito, Utah’s Hogle Zoo new baby burro.

Burro-ito, named by his keepers, was born Tuesday, Sept. 6 to the two burros temporarily living at the zoo, according to a press release from Hogle Zoo.

The zoo currently houses two wild mustangs, two burros and now baby Burro-ito as part of a partnership with Utah’s Bureau of Land Management. The partnership helps the BLM to showcase the wild horses and donkeys that are available for sale or adoption in an effort help herds thrive on healthy rangeland.

The burros and wild horses typically arrive at the zoo in April and stay through October. Guests can see baby Burro-ito and the other animals when they ride the train.
