LAYTON — A man accused of stealing two purses from two girls at a Layton Wal-Mart last week was arrested on Saturday night.

Shane Allan Bodily, 46, was arrested and booked into Davis County Jail, said Layton Police Sgt. Clint Bobrowski. Bodily returned to the same Wal-Mart where he stole two purses from a shopping cart last week. The store’s loss prevention department recognized Bodily on camera and contacted police.

Bodily was arrested without incident. Once in custody, police say Bodily admitted to stealing the purses, which had about $12 between the two, for drugs.

Police say they found drug paraphernalia on Bodily as well as brass knuckles, a knife and a heroin kit.

Bodily is being charged with third degree felony theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon by a restricted person.
