SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah's Class of 2008 did better on the ACT college entrance exam than seniors did in past years and the nation as a whole.
The Class of 2008 earned an average score of 21.8 out of 36 possible points on the ACT. The nation as a whole scored an average of 21.1.
The ACT is becoming an increasingly popular test. Nationwide, the number of students who took the exam increased 9 percent. The test is meant to indicate how well students will perform in college.
