HILL AIR FORCE BASE (AP) -- Hill Air Force Base is being honored for its excellence.
Hill is a recipient of the 2006 Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing's Public Sector prize.
Officials say Hill is being honored for saving taxpayers money while increasing the quality and availability of military weapons.
There are four levels of the Shingo award -- bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Hill is getting a gold honor for its work with F-16s.
Hill will be honored in Las Vegas on September seventh. The Shingo award is administered by Utah State University's College of Business.
