CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. (AP) — Bill and Hillary Clinton have cast their New York primary votes this morning in their adopted home town of Chappaqua (CHAP'-uh-kwah), New York. The former president and current Democratic primary front-runner voted in an elementary school gymnasium amid a crush of supporters. Hillary Clinton said she loves New York and that it's "been a joy during the last two weeks to be here." The politician-spouses shook hands with supporters, and posed for selfies.
NEW YORK (AP) — Rudy Giuliani says while he endorses Donald Trump, he's "not part of the campaign." He's already made known his support of Trump, but hadn't described it as an endorsement. The Republican former New York mayor spoke on CNN as New Yorkers headed to the polls for today's primary. Trump has been leading his rivals in the polls in New York.
HOUSTON (AP) — More rain is likely as Houston cleans up after more than a foot of rain swamped parts of the nation's fourth-largest city. The National Weather Service says there is a 50 percent chance of more rain falling on the Houston area today. It's issued a flash flood watch through tomorrow morning. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner says the city is returning to normal operations and advises drivers to take care on flooded roads. Five people died in the Houston area after storms since Sunday dumped up to 16 inches of rain.
CINCINNATI (AP) — A federal judge has ruled that a suburban Cincinnati man is competent to stand trial on charges that he plotted to attack the U.S. Capitol in support of the Islamic State group. The judge issued her order today. She scheduled a November trial after a hearing yesterday in which a psychologist for the defense testified he believed Christopher Cornell is currently able to participate in his defense. The psychologist urged that he be re-evaluated before trial because his competency is "marginal."
NEW YORK (AP) — Energy stocks are among the gainers in early trading on Wall Street as the price of crude oil turns higher. But stocks have been mixed overall in early trading. The price of U.S. benchmark crude oil rose 1 percent to $40 a barrel in New York. Natural gas futures soared 5 percent.
