SALT LAKE CITY — We've all experienced many Mondays in our lifetime, yet conquering them still doesn't seem to get easier.
Fortunately, there are kind people all around us who often alleviate the excruciating Monday blues.
If you're looking for a good prescription for said blues, read the three stories below.
When it was too hot to be happy
Tyler B.
"I took my young family down to Red Cliffs in Leeds to go on a “short” hike. ... Unfortunately, the parking lot was full, and we ended up having to park a couple of miles from the trailhead.
"I was determined to go hiking and make some family memories, so we made the trek. On the way back down to our car, the temperature was rising, as were our tempers. Like a flash flood in southern Utah, the complaints began: 'When are we there? Why did we park so far away? I’m thirsty. ... It’s too hot. My legs are tired. Hold me.' ... With each car that passed, my wife turned to me, cursing the poor state park rangers who told us the parking lot was full.
"Then, a Suburban stopped. A woman jumped out of the passenger seat and said, 'Can we give you a ride?' ... She and two of her sons jumped out of their seats and crammed into the back – letting me and my family sit in the seats and enjoy the A/C. Now that’s a memory I won’t soon forget."

When it was too expensive
Matt M.
"My car was broken into the day before New Year’s Eve 2015. Someone had smashed my driver side window and stole a portable heater I used to keep warm on my rides to work every morning. It was going to cost $200 to replace the window.
"Being that Christmas had just passed, we didn’t have much to pay for the replacement. My cousin, Kelsey Jensen, being the amazing person she is and without my knowledge, gave my wife the money to replace the window. At a time when I pessimistically thought, 'What a way to start the new year,' Kelsey’s generosity meant so much to me!"
Small, but meaningful
Chad J.
"I was getting lunch at In-N-Out Burger, the car in front of me paid for my meal. That act of kindness made my day. Great people out there. Thanks."
