CLINTON — Police say three men, clothed in black, with their faces painted black, used baseball bats and duct tape to hold a pregnant woman and a 10-year-old boy against their will inside a townhouse near 800 North and 650 West.
"This was a violent attack," Clinton Police Lt. Shawn Stoker said. "The female and juvenile were bound to kitchen chairs with duct tape, and the duct tape was also affixed over their eyes."
Earlier this week, police arrested 19-year-old Luis Angel Martinez in connection with the October assault and robbery. They were able to link him to the crime through fingerprints found at the scene. According to arresting documents, Martinez was a family friend to the victims.
"Due to the disguise (and) the actions that were taken on that night, the individual was not recognized on the date of the incident," Stoker explained.
Documents also say the woman was assaulted by one of the men during the home invasion.
"They did threaten the individuals involved that if they were to report the incident, that they would come back," Stoker said.
Detectives are now following leads to try to find the remaining two suspects in the case. Stoker says investigators have their names but have had trouble reaching them.
"We hope to investigate everything that's outstanding and bring this to resolution with others that were involved in the case as well," Stoker said.
