UNDATED (AP) — As Democrats and Republicans each vote in 11 states on this Super Tuesday, Bernie Sanders is hoping to stay close to Hillary Clinton in the South, and pick up victories in states including Minnesota and his home state of Vermont. But he's facing tough questions about whether he can rally minorities who are core Democratic voters. After voting today in Vermont, Sanders told reporters that he'll do well if voter turnout is high. Otherwise, he says, "we're probably going to be struggling."
HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio school district is closed and all extracurricular activities cancelled as authorities investigate a shooting by a 14-year-old boy that injured four students, including two who were hit by gunfire. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones in southwestern Ohio says he's aware of a motive in yesterday's shooting at Madison Local Schools but isn't ready to release it. Authorities say the boy pulled out a gun in a school cafeteria and opened fire, hitting two students, and then ran from the school. He was caught nearby.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jurors in Nashville are expected to hear more testimony today from sportscaster Erin Andrews on how her life was affected when a stalker secretly made nude videos of her and posted them on the Internet. Andrews told jurors yesterday that it ripped her apart when some said they thought the videos were a publicity stunt. She broke down, saying she's anxious and depressed, and gets taunted by people who've seen the videos.
DETROIT (AP) — Automakers are posting big sales gains for February, when consumers returned to showrooms following a snowy January. Ford says its sales rose 20 percent over last February. Fiat Chrysler sales were up 12 percent and Nissan posted a gain of nearly 11 percent.
NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are modestly higher in early trading as the market recovers from a loss yesterday. Overseas, stocks have been higher today following a move by China to support bank lending. It helped offset concern about a drop in manufacturing activity there.
