WEST VALLEY CITY — Police asked for help Wednesday to locate the 18-year-old who they believe was responsible for a shooting in West Valley City.
A warrant has been issued for Oscar Valdiviezo Balderrama's arrest in connection to a shooting that occurred at Scottsdale Park on Nov. 1, according to the West Valley City Police Department. At about 6 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm and a 20-year-old man was shot in the upper body.
Both men were transported to the hospital from the park, which is located at 3755 W. 3100 South in West Valley City. Police said they identified Balderrama through interviews with the two men, who reportedly know Balderrama and agreed to meet him in the park.
Balderrama was charged with three counts of felony discharge of a weapon and aggravated assault in November, according to court documents. Investigators released photos of him Wednesday in an effort to determine his whereabouts.
Police said Balderrama frequents the West Valley area, as well as Tooele County and Colorado. Anyone who has information about his location can contact investigators by calling 801-840-4000.
