WASHINGTON (AP) — House Democrats decamping to Baltimore next week for a team-building retreat have summoned a few A-listers to join them, including President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and comedian Trevor Noah.

Noah, the South African-born host of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," will be there Friday, just before the Democratic lawmakers leave Charm City, fired up for their election-year battles with Republicans and potential GOP presidential foils like Donald Trump.

Obama's appearance may be bittersweet. Democrats controlled Congress by wide margins when he took office and passed landmark legislation on health care and financial regulation. But they then suffered crippling losses in two midterm elections that make regaining majority status an uphill climb.
