THE DARK SIDE — As an adult, having a go-to coping mechanism in times of trauma is important.

Some turn to exercise as an outlet for stress and frustration. Others channel anxious energy into mindless activity like watching YouTube videos for countless hours until they can no longer remember which cat fail video sent them down a rabbit hole that resulted in an ASMR binge.

Unlike an adult, when there's a baby in the midst of a fit, there's only so much a caretaker can do to try and calm the child. You can't very well suggest they go for a jog or check out a viral video of a turtle eating lettuce while Enya plays in the background (yes, that's a real thing). You can try to cover the basic needs of an infant — feeding, changing, or even this viral baby-soothing technique — but there are times when the solution may be a little less obvious.

Have You Seen This? Baby calmed by 'Imperial March'

One family discovered that something a bit more ominous quelled their fussy babe: playing perhaps the most iconic villain theme music in cinematic history. In a video posted by Micah Hayman just under a week ago, a seemingly inconsolable child is quieted by the dulcet tones of John William's "Imperial March," the theme of the dark side's Darth Vader.

Not only does the baby stop crying, he or she actually begins cooing in time with the menacing brass section.

It's adorable, even if that family has a potential antihero on their hands.
