MILWAUKEE (AP) — The former bottling house at the Pabst Brewing Co. complex, which sat dormant for nearly 20 years, will be reborn as student housing when it reopens in August.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1R3PvrU ) the renovated building will have 151 apartments on three floors, with enough beds to house more than 400 students.
The $43 million project in downtown Milwaukee will also feature a food court with up to five restaurants and a coffee shop.
Blue Ribbon Management LLC began marketing Eleven25 at Pabst in November. The building's general manager, Jackie Higgins, says 23 students have signed leases for the 2016-17 academic year so far.
The building is near Marquette University and the Milwaukee School of Engineering, but Higgins says there's also been strong interest from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students.
