LAS VEGAS (AP) — Prosecutors say a woman charged with plowing a car into crowds of pedestrians on a Las Vegas Strip sidewalk had marijuana in her system at the time. Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson released blood tests showing that Lakeisha Nicole Holloway had more than the Nevada legal limit of pot in her blood when she was arrested Dec. 20. Her defense attorney says the levels are low.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A panel of lawmakers has approved regulations for Nevada's new Education Savings Account program, even though they contained controversial perks for military families and kindergartners. The Legislative Commission's Subcommittee to Review Regulations passed the rules on a split vote, with three Democrats opposed. Democratic opponents say the exemptions exceed the law's intent.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The attorney general of Nevada is warning the public about a new phone scam in which the caller poses as a representative of state and federal offices. Attorney General Adam Laxalt says the callers try to collect personal information and money by pretending to be from his office or the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He says his office will never contact Nevadans to ask for money.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward as authorities investigate raw bacon that was found on the door handles of a Las Vegas mosque. The FBI says they're seeking information on the man seen in a surveillance video putting the meat on the entrances of the Masjid-e-Tawheed mosque, calling it a desecration of the Islamic worship center. The holy book of Islam prohibits Muslims from eating pork.
