SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah Valley University's vice president for academic affairs will serve as the school's interim president.
Elizabeth Hitch was named interim president Thursday by Jed Pitcher, chairman of the state board of regents.
Hitch will start her new job Aug. 18. That's when Bill Sederburg will leave the post to become commissioner of higher education.
Hitch has held her current job since July 2007 and has more than 35 years of experience in higher education.
