(KSL News) The cost to open and operate the nation's first nuclear waste dump at Yucca Mountain has jumped $32 billion.

The Bush administration says the Yucca Mountain facility will now cost more than $90 billion. In 2001, the government estimated costs at $58 billion.

The facility was supposed to open 10 years ago, but numerous lawsuits keep pushing the opening date back.
