It started with an argument at a pickup basketball game and ended with a serious assault. Now, Salt Lake County sheriff's deputies are hoping a video will help them find the suspect.

It happened back in March, but Lt. Paul Jaroscak says the victim has been paying the price since.

Jaroscak says the victim repeatedly refused to fight after a scuffle on the basketball court, but then was accosted by the suspect when he left the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center.

At one point, the victim was picked up and thrown to the ground. "That, in particular, caused some severe damage to his knee that he's had to have surgically repaired," Jaroscak said.

Detectives have video of the man and his friends at the center. They're hoping to find him, if nothing else, so the victim might recover some medical costs.
