Twenty-eight-year-old Nicholas Sheley is the prime suspect in the killing spree that left eight people dead. It allegedly started last week with a vicious beating that killed a 93-year-old man in Illinois.
Investigators say all of the victims died the same way and that evidence linking Sheley was discovered at each murder scene.

So far, Sheley has been charged with just two of the eight deaths in Illinois and Missouri. Officials need to decide where he could be tried. They are also looking into whether drugs might have fueled the killings.
