ATHOL, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho State Police say a Washington man and two young children are dead after their vehicle crashed with another that was traveling in the wrong lane. Authorities say the crash took place just south of Athol in Kootenai County. Police say 33-three-year-old Mathew-Michael Baroni of Spokane and two children who share his last name died on the scene. The three were not wearing seatbelts.
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Federal officials say a private plane that crashed near an eastern Idaho airport in 2013 had run out of fuel. The Post Register reports that the National Transportation Safety Board released a report saying investigators found no fuel in either of the plane's main tanks. They also found that the nacelle tanks were tapped dry.
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Members of a northern Idaho luxury golf club that closed in 2010 are suing a bank in hopes of recovering their membership deposits. The Coeur d'Alene Press newspaper reports a trial is set for Oct. 2 in federal court. According to the lawsuit, the members of the Club at Black Rock each bought property surrounding the golf course overlooking Lake Coeur d'Alene and paid club membership deposits which ranged from tens of thousands of dollars to $125,000.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Panera Bread representative says the company will be opening seven new restaurants in Idaho by early next year. The Idaho Statesman reports that the bakery chain says it will have stores in Boise, Nampa, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Hayden. The move into Idaho involves company-run stores rather than franchises.
