SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An Orem man serving as a Mormon mission president in Mexico was shot during an armed robbery this week.
Church spokesman Eric Hawkins says Lynn Madsen's legs were both injured after he was struck by one gunshot Monday night while at a restaurant in Juchitán, Mexico.
Madsen's wounds aren't serious, and he is expected to recover.
Madsen was overseeing a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca.
Madsen and his wife, Diane Madsen, live in Orem. Lynn Madsen is the owner of a business, LDM Enterprises Broadcast Consulting.
