WEST VALLEY CITY — West Valley City police are searching for two suspects who they say held a man at gunpoint and carjacked his pickup.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, three people carjacked a man at gunpoint near 2600 South and 7200 West, police said. When police spotted the people in the pickup, they led police on a high-speed chase.
Police set up a spike strip to try and stop the pickup, but the maneuver failed and the trio led police all the way to Kearns. The pickup ran through two fences and a garage before the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police caught one suspect, 19-year-old Cesar Lobos, who was booked in jail on armed robbery charges. The other two suspects are still on the loose, police said.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
