NORTH OGDEN — A North Ogden man is asking for help to find his stolen phone that contains pictures and videos of the day his daughter was born.
“Those pictures are part of our lives that we can’t go back, we can’t get those pictures again, we can’t relive those days and as of now they’re just gone,” Scott Nesiba said Thursday.
Gianna Nesiba is two months old now and the pictures weren’t saved or stored anywhere else, according to her dad.
Nesiba was working at Ogden Regional Hospital Wednesday afternoon when his Samsung Galaxy S4 disappeared.
At first, he believed he misplaced the device.
Surveillance images ultimately showed an unidentified man taking the phone, Nesiba and Weber County Sheriff’s investigators said.
“At one point, he picked the phone up and appeared to … someone talked to him and he set the phone back down and maybe talked to someone for a moment,” Nesiba said. “As soon as they stepped away, he picked the phone back up and just headed out the door.”
Nesiba said he is hopeful somebody will recognize the man captured in surveillance images and give detectives a call.
“We’re really lucky and thankful that there are security cameras that are in place and security camera systems to where we were able to get good photos,” Nesiba said. "Hopefully we can find him and get the photos back.”
Anybody with information in the case is asked to call the Weber County Sheriff’s Office at 801-629-8221.
