SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Lightning over the weekend started a wildfire burning about five miles south of Bear Lake in Rich County, fire officials said Tuesday.
The Twin Peaks fire was burning about 400 acres about three miles south of Laketown. Access to the fire was causing some difficulty getting crews and equipment to the area, Teresa Rigby, a fire spokeswoman for the Bureau of Land Management said in a news release. About 60 firefighters and some aerial equipment were working the fire Tuesday, she said.
The fire was about 10 percent contained Monday night and higher humidity overnight helped cool the fire. Fire officials said the fire could be contained by Wednesday.
