(KSL News) A group of young artists brought all sorts of color to a Salt Lake neighborhood.
Fifteen University of Utah arts students, with help of teen apprentices from YouthCity Artways, created a mural celebrating the Rio Grande neighborhood near 300 South and 600 West.

The project is based on a traditional Mexican mural style, which uses flat backgrounds mixed with highly glazed images.
Besides adding vibrancy, organizers say the mural pays homage to two growing communities along the Wasatch Front: Latinos and art.
