(KSL News) An accident claimed the life of a truck driver this evening on Utah Highway 111 on the western edge of the Salt Lake Valley.
At about 5900 South, the driver of a pickup tried to make a U-turn. A truck pulling two belly-dump trailers tried to avoid the pickup, but hit it. A third truck coming from the opposite direction hit one of the jackknifed trailers, ran off the road and burst into flames.
Its driver couldn't get out and died at the scene.
Investigators will determine whether the pickup driver was in the wrong for pulling out when the big rig was too close.
