SYRACUSE — The city of Syracuse released a press release Sunday stating that the city will remain under the boil order until further notice.
According to the statement, tap water must be boiled prior to consumption and bottled water may be used in its place.
The boil order, the city said, was made upon discovering that a development mistakenly tied a secondary water line into a culinary line.
More details on the order can be found on the city’s website, and up-to-the-minute information is available on Syracuse city’s Facebook page.
Syracuse officials continue to flush the water system and are conducting water quality testing in conjunction with the Davis County Health Department. The city says that sample results on Sunday were encouraging with no samples testing positive for E. coli, however one sample returned as positive for coliform.
Syracuse expects to lift the boil order by Wednesday, June 10.
In addition to the city's official website and Facebook page, Syracuse officials are available to answer questions that the public may have at 801-643-5775.
The boil order issued in Clinton is also still in effect.
