(KSL News) Salt Lake City police are investigating the theft of $15,000 worth of copper wire.
Police say someone reported some suspicious activity near 1100 West and 500 South.
The person reported seeing a large amount of stripped copper wire in the backyard of the home. The caller also reported seeing the casings from the wire in the rear of a truck in the driveway.
Police arrested six adults and two juveniles. They are charged with possessing stolen property.
The wire was taken from Rocky Mountain Power in the Park City area.
