TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A woman whose parachute got snagged on a bridge and was left dangling 500 feet above the Snake River has been rescued without injury. Multiple agencies on Tuesday helped save 26-year-old Carla Jean Segil, of California. The Twin Falls County sheriff's office says wind caught Segil's parachute and blew it into the bridge structure.
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A woman freed from prison after serving 12 years of a life sentence for an attack she says she didn't take part in has been arrested. Caldwell police arrested 32-year-old Sarah Pearce on Sunday on suspicion of felony probation violation and possession of methamphetamine. Pearce was freed from prison in March 2014 after a compromise deal between Canyon County prosecutors and attorneys with the Idaho Innocence Project.
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Southwest Idaho police say a 19-year-old woman witnesses say was beaten and forced into a vehicle by a man has been found. The Nampa Police Department says Cassandra Rupert of Boise was found yesterday. Authorities say witnesses reported a kidnapping Tuesday evening and that a Nampa police officer briefly chased a black Lincoln Navigator with temporary tags, but the pursuit was called off due to public hazard.
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A southwestern Idaho man convicted of sexually abusing a young girl has been sentenced to life in prison. Fifty-year-old Christopher Clendenon of Parma was sentenced Monday. Clendenon was arrested in January after law enforcement investigators said he had sexual contact with the girl over eight years, starting when she was 6.
