Now that the "divorce" is final, what happens next? With deadlines approaching and arbitration stalling, west-side political leaders are asking Gov. Jon Huntsman to call a special legislative session to delay the Jordan District split.
South Jordan Mayor Kent Money complains that the Jordan District is stuck with the bill to spruce up and repair schools in the east side that split away. "It could be hundreds of millions of dollars that we would have to pay to bring their schools up to date," he said.
Money says the requested delay should be no more than six months.
