SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- State health officials say the number of HIV diagnoses in Utah is increasing.

Health officials say people are less worried about contracting the virus because advances in medications have improved treatment HIV. They say better medications are NOT a cure.

Officials say people should still focus on using condoms and not engage in risky behavior like using drugs.

Last year, 91 HIV-positive individuals were reported to health officials. This year there about 45 new HIV cases have been identified.
