MESA, Ariz. (AP) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans an April 19 public dedication for a new meetinghouse and institute to serve Arizona State University's Polytechnic campus in Mesa.

The church facility includes a chapel for worship services, a cultural hall for sports and other activities, offices and classrooms for religious instruction.

According to the church, the institute will offer religious instruction and a place for students to study and relax.

Once dedicated, the meetinghouse will also house three congregations, including two for young singles and one for married students.

The church already has a similar facility at ASU's main campus in Tempe.
