HURRICANE, Utah (AP) -- Arson is suspected in the June 8 fire at Geneva Pipe -- the second at the plant within two weeks.
The June fire destroyed the plant's computer center, which operates equipment used in making concrete pipes and manhole covers. Damage was estimated at $100,000.
"The fire is very suspicious and we believe it was arson," said Shayne Copeland, assistant police chief.
The fire came just three days after the plant had resumed full operations following a small fire over the Memorial Day weekend.
The company is still making product and some of the employees from the Hurricane plant are working for another Geneva Pipe plant in the Salt Lake City area.
Geneva Pipe dispatcher Mike Tisdale said it is hoped that the company will be back up to full capacity in two weeks.
Copeland said police have interviewed about 60 people and have another 15 to interview.
