(KSL News) Investigators uncovered a possible motive in the murder-suicide case in Stockton.
Michelle Carter shot and killed her boyfriend, Larry Van Camp, Sunday night outside their home, while they were working on their semi truck.
The truck's air conditioner was broken and needed a new part. Officers say Carter wanted Van Camp to fix it, and he thought she would take care of it.
After a day of bickering and nagging, the seemingly small argument escalated. Carter shot and killed Van Camp, then turned the gun on herself.
The couple's three children heard the gunshots, and their 16-year old son found the bodies.
Detectives do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
Police say the kids are having a hard time coping with their parents' deaths.
