(KSL News) The Utah Highway Patrol got some extra cash to help it catch drunk drivers this holiday weekend.
The Utah Auto Dealers Association donated $5,000 to help pay for the cost of this weekend's DUI blitz.
Governor Huntsman was also on hand, thanking troopers for their service and explaining how important it is to keep drunk drivers off the roads.
"You wear a uniform everyone in this state is very proud of. I want you to know that. And so when you hit the streets you have a responsibility and you have a duty. It is to protect the citizens of this state. Nothing we do is more important than that," the governor said.
Following the ceremony troopers began the blitz, which will last throughout the weekend.
