BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) -- Chad Barrett scored two late goals to lead the Chicago Fire to a two-to-one victory over Real Salt Lake tonight.
Barrett entered the game as a substitution in the 69th minute. Eleven minutes later, he tied the score one-to-one heading a ball to the left of Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Scott Garlick. And five minutes after that, he got the game-winner, beating Garlick in a one-on-one challenge.
The game was halted in the 68th minute due to stormy weather. After a 55-minute break, the teams returned to the field.
Real Salt Lake took charge in the 25th minute. Jeff Cunningham crossed to Jason Kreis, who was in the center of the box. Kreis turned and shot through a wall of Fire sending the ball to the right of diving Fire goalkeeper Zach Thornton.
