SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- EnergySolutions Inc. had a profit of more than $19 million in its first full quarter as a public company.
The Utah-based company handles radioactive waste. Its stock began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in November.
EnergySolutions had revenue of $502 million from January through March. Net income came in at 22 cents per share. The company is predicting full-year earnings of 69 cents to 74 cents per share.
Chief Executive Steve Creamer predicts the company will win a lawsuit for the right to store Italian waste at its property in Clive, Utah. A regional waste management agency rejected the plan last week.
