Tom Callan reportingMotion picture sound stages are on the verge of coming to Salt Lake City. That word from city councilman J.T. Martin.
"We're looking to launch four 25,000-square-foot stages right at the beginning, and working toward 12," he said.
Martin expects the first sound stage to be at the Utah State Fairgrounds.
"These sound stages would be financed by private individuals as a business opportunity," he explained.
Martin says the new Salt Lake company is working with the Utah Film Institute and Blackstone Studios in Provo.
