HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Two men have been arrested in the December death of a man found in a burning Henderson home. Authorities say Julius Zavalza and Jose Valle, both 21, were taken into custody without incident yesterday. Henderson police had been investigating the death of 20-year-old Walter Wu as a homicide.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada Supreme Court justices heard oral arguments yesterday on an appeal by Catholic church officials of a $500,000 jury award to a man who says he was molested as a 13-year-old by a priest who had moved from Wisconsin to Las Vegas. A lawyer for the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay argued the case should be thrown out.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Former Nevada lawmaker Steven Brooks has been sentenced in Las Vegas to three years' probation in a February 2013 domestic violence case. Steven Brooks also was ordered to undergo 24 sessions of mental health counseling as part of a plea that avoided trial in two felony cases.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Democrats have widened their registration lead slightly in Nevada after taking a beating in the November midterm elections. The Secretary of State's office reported that the number of active, registered Democrats grew by about 5,800 since mid-October, which was the deadline to register to vote in the midterm.
