GEORGE LUCAS’ BASEMENT — The first teaser trailer for “Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens” released late last week and the world went nuts. Fans could not get enough of X-Wing fighters and the Millennium Falcon. Now we have what we’ve all been waiting for, the "George Lucas Special Edition" trailer.
The YouTube channel TimTimFed released what it is calling “Star Wars: Episode VII Trailer — George Lucas’ Special Edition.” What does George Lucas’ special edition consist of? CGI. Loads and loads of CGI. Oh, and Jabba the Hutt. Just try not to start crying from laughter when you see the TIE fighters in the Millennium Falcon scene. Genius.
What’s sad is that this parody trailer is both hilarious and depressing. Funny because it’s so reminiscent of the special editions of Episodes IV, V and VI and depressing because of how reminiscent it is of the special editions of Episodes IV, V and VI.
Watch the parody trailer and be grateful it’s just a joke and that J.J. Abrams is in charge.
