ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Three Washington County sheriff's deputies have been cleared of any wrongdoing in an April 24 shooting in Enterprise.

The county attorney's office says Sgt. Kurt Bowen and deputies Jim Jessop and Matt Fisher can return to work. The three men have been on administrative leave for 12 days.

Sheriff Kirk Smith says the shooting occurred during a domestic violence incident that started in a car.

A deputy saw a woman and a man fighting on the side of the road. When he approached the car, the male driver sped off to an Enterprise home. There the man said he would shoot police if they tried to enter. He also prevented the woman from leaving the house.

The man was shot and wounded after deputies kicked down the front door.
