(KSL News) President Thomas S. Monson thanked thousands of Latter-day Saint women today for all the service they give to family, friends and people throughout the world.
"Thank you for the selfless service you give so willingly. Such service provides the golden threads which run through the tapestry of your lives," President Monson said.
He was the concluding speaker for this year's BYU Women's Conference. During the annual two-day event, the women heard speakers, participated in workshops, and provided humanitarian aid by putting together hygiene, school and infant kits that will be shipped abroad.
President Monson also told the women that all people go through difficulties in life. "All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, and expands our souls," he said.
He asked them all to take time and reflect on all that they do.
