TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Democratic gubernatorial candidate A.J. Balukoff is firing back against a new television ad accusing him of not knowing who he voted for in the 2008 presidential election. The Republican Governors Association released a video yesterday with footage of Balukoff telling an RGA cameraman he would have to see if he could remember who he voted for six years ago. The Times-News reports that Balukoff's campaign says the candidate did not answer the question seriously because the man had refused to say who he worked for while following Balukoff for nearly a month.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A homeless man found dead in Boise in an area frequented by transients has been identified. The Ada County Coroner's Office today said 37-year-old Russell "Rusty" Bitton died of blunt force trauma to the head. His body was found yesterday morning on 16th Street beneath an overpass. Ada County Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg has ruled the death a homicide.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 61-year-old southwest Idaho man police say killed his 87-year-old father has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other charges. Anthony Wayne Conner of Meridian made the plea yesterday in 4th District Court. Police started investigating after Anthony Conner reported finding his father, Otis Conner, dead and said the elderly man had fallen from a ladder. A coroner ruled Otis Conner's death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Libertarian gubernatorial candidate John Bujak says he has pleaded guilty to contempt for not paying child support. Bujak tells the Idaho Press-Tribune that he made the plea last week in Canyon County for not paying child support for one month in 2013. Bujak says the payments are now current.
