Marc Giauque reportingThe need is there. The money is not. Now area business leaders are set to unveil a plan to pay for a list of key transportation projects.
This plan goes well beyond money to expand TRAX into four new areas. It also includes improvement on interstate 80, expansion of commuter rail and improvements in Utah county. It's why the Chamber of Commerce says the funding should come from many potential sources including sales tax increases as well as property tax increases in some areas.
The Chambers' Transportation Alliance says keeping Utah's transit system and roads up to date is critical for the economy.
